Official Game Rules

Roll Ball rules as sanctioned by the International Roll Ball Federation (IRBF) and implemented by KRBF for all official competitions

Team Composition

  • 6 players per team on court (5 players + 1 goalkeeper)
  • Maximum 12 players per team roster
  • Minimum 4 players required to start a match
  • Unlimited substitutions allowed during play

Match Duration

  • Two halves of 20 minutes each
  • 10-minute halftime break
  • Clock stops for injuries and official timeouts
  • Extra time: 2 periods of 10 minutes for knockout matches

Scoring Rules

  • Goal: 2 points when ball completely crosses goal line
  • Free throw goal: 1 point from penalty situations
  • Ball must be bounced continuously while in possession
  • Goals can be scored from anywhere on the court

Player Movement

  • All players must wear roller skates during play
  • Ball must be dribbled (bounced) while skating
  • Maximum 3 touches before passing or shooting
  • No physical contact between opposing players allowed

Court Requirements

  • 5cm boundary lines (white or red)
  • Center line dividing court into two halves
  • Goal area marked with D-shaped arc
  • Penalty spots clearly marked
  • Safe area of minimum 2 meters around court

Equipment Requirements

Essential Equipment

  • Roller skates (inline or quad)
  • Protective helmet (mandatory)
  • Knee pads (mandatory)
  • Elbow pads (recommended)
  • Wrist guards (recommended)

Game Equipment

  • Official Roll Ball (size 6 basketball)
  • Goals with nets
  • Boundary markers/cones
  • Score sheets and timing equipment
  • First aid kit (mandatory at all games)

Uniform Requirements

  • Team jerseys with unique numbers
  • Shorts or sports trousers
  • Sports socks
  • Team colors must contrast with opponents
  • Captain's armband for team captains

Player Registration

All players must be registered with KRBF before participating in official competitions. Registration requires valid identification, medical certificate, and payment of annual fees.

Team Affiliation

Teams must be affiliated with their respective county branch. New teams require KRBF approval and must meet minimum standards for coaching staff and facilities.

Code of Conduct

All participants must uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship. Unsporting behavior, referee abuse, or violence will result in immediate suspension and disciplinary action.

Anti-Doping Policy

KRBF adheres to World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) standards. Players may be subject to random testing during competitions. Violations result in immediate suspension.

Age Categories

Junior (Under 17), Senior (18+), Masters (35+). Age verification required at registration. Players compete in age-appropriate categories only.

Transfer Rules

Players may transfer between teams once per season with 30-day notice. International transfers require KRBF and destination country federation approval.
